Track Record Limitations

• Before costs: Figures are before brokerage commissions, spreads, taxes, and slippage. Actual returns would be lower.
• Best possible exits: Statistics labeled "best possible (hindsight) exit" show prices that could not reliably have been captured in practice. They represent the ceiling, not a realistic outcome.
• Survivorship bias: Stocks that delisted, merged, or were removed from the model are excluded from long-term statistics.
• Model changes: The model evolves over time. Past statistics may not reflect the current methodology.

Model Limitations

The model published on Trade The Path relies on trend-following and statistical extrapolation of past prices. It is often wrong. Specific limitations include:

• Trend channels can break without warning
• Projected prices are estimates with wide confidence intervals
